EMEA IT spending to rise 2.8% next year, after 2020 depressed by virus, Brexit

Wednesday 11 November 2020 | 12:06 CET | News
IT spending in EMEA is expected to decline 6.5 percent year-on-year in 2020 but should recover next year, going 2.8 higher to USD 1.075 trillion, according to the latest study from Gartner. The researcher had initially forecast a 3.4 percent rise for this year but revised its findings amid the coronavirus pandemic, combined with the effects of Brexit. Spending this year will decline across all segments but next year, Garter believes most organisations will increase the speed of their digital business initiatives in 2021 by diverting funds from other areas of IT.
