Emerging markets drive 6.7% growth in smartphone sales in Q2 - Gartner

Worldwide smartphone sales climbed to 366.2 million units in the second quarter of 2017, a 6.7 percent year on year rise driven in part by the growing demand in emerging markets for 4G smartphones, according to the latest data from Gartner. The Greater China and emerging Asia/Pacific markets accounted for global shares of 27.7 percent and 21.4 percent respectively in the three months to end of June, with North American sales flat year on year at 11.0 percent and Western European sales coming in at 9.8 percent, a return to year-on-year growth thanks above all to the strong performance of
