Emilia-Romagna launches EUR 26 mln broadband tender

The government of the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna has launched a tender for EUR 26 million in funds to roll out fibre-optic infrastructure in areas currently lacking broadband coverage. Localities have until 15 April to apply for the grants, which are financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 2014-20. Emilia-Romagna recently announced that it was targeting a "100 percent digital" region by 2025.
