Emtel extends Airbox FWA service throughout Mauritius

Mauritian operator Emtel announced to have extended coverage of its Airbox fixed wireless access (FWA) service to the whole island, reports Agence Ecofin. The broadband service was available to approximately two thirds of households in mid-2015 and the company had previously pledged to reach full coverage by early 2016. Enabling a connection speed of up to 30 Mbps, Airbox uses an alternative broadband technology (fibre through the air, or FTTA) which relies on a dish antenna placed on the exterior of the property.
