Encore launches industrial router with LTE Cat 1 chipset

Encore Networks announced that it has teamed with LTE chipset developer Sequans Communications to provide an industrial router leveraging Category 1 LTE, a newly deployed level of LTE service aimed at IoT and M2M applications. Encore's router uses the Sequans VZ120Q module, based on Sequans' Calliope CAT1 LTE chipset. The VZ120Q was designed and recently certified for use on the Verizon Wireless LTE network. Encore said Cat 1 can offer significant operating costs savings over the 2G systems used in many current industrial applications. The company will display its CAT1 products at CTIA Super
