Enel creates first smart city for 100k people at Milan Expo

Italian utility giant Enel has announced the creation of what it describes as the world's first completely electric smart city capable of satisfying the energy needs of 100,000 people. The smart city has been installed at the Milan Expo 2015 world fair, which opened on 01 May and runs until 15 October, and features the latest network management and control systems, including smart grids, electricity storage plants, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and smart street lighting.
