Entel Bolivia picks Huawei's TubeStar base station for urban rollout

Bolivian operator Entel has teamed up with Huawei to deploy the first environmentally-friendly TubeStar macro base station in the country. Specially designed to reduce site TCO in urban areas, Huawei said Entel picked the TubeStar service in view of the high price of site acquisition in the country. TubeStar stations require far less site area (2 square meters) than traditional macro sites while allowing RF, baseband, transmission, and battery units to accommodate in a tiny vertical space.
