Entel Bolivia to invest up to USD 60 mln in Pacific cable

Monday 31 July 2017 | 11:12 CET | News
Bolivian operator Entel has announced plans to invest between USD 40 million and 60 million to roll out a fibre optic cable through Peru to the Pacific Ocean, reports EFE, citing the company's CEO Oscar Coca. He said work on the submarine cable project is expected to begin at the end of 2017 and will take about a year. The aim is to improve Bolivia's internet access speeds and reduce costs, said Coca, adding that he will be meeting with Peru's public works minister on 08 August to discuss the project.
