EOH faces ZAR 44 mln fine and possible loss of national ID system contract after delays

South Africa's Department of Home Affairs (DHA) has imposed a ZAR 44 million fine on technology services company EOH for delays in implementing the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) contract, ITWeb reported. The DHA has recommended the contract worth over ZAR 400 million be ceded to a suitable subcontractor, after months of wrangling and negotiations over the delays.
