EPIC files privacy complaint with FTC over Samsung TVs

The Electronic Privacy Information Centre has filed a complaint to the US Federal Trade Commission about Samsung's Smart TVs. The complaint follows confirmation from the company that could overhear personal conversations of users of its smart TVs, due to the voice control and interactive systems on the TVs. "Samsung routinely intercepts and records the private communications of consumers in their homes," EPIC said in its complaint, adding that the "privacy notices" provided by the company do not diminish the harm to consumers.
