Equinix expands into Mexico with USD 175 mln Axtel data centre deal

Equinix has announced an agreement with Mexican ICT company Axtel to acquire three data centres serving the Mexico City and Monterrey metro areas for a total of USD 175 million in cash. In a statement, Equinix said the three facilities generated some EUR 21 million of revenues in the 12 months ending 31 December 2018, adding that the acquisition is expected to close in Q1 2020, subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approval.
