Ericsson, Cisco win Nextel Brazil IP deal

The newly-approved partnership between Cisco and Ericsson has secured its first agreement in Brazil, with the two companies announcing that they will supply and install IP routers for longtime client Nextel. The combined offering will include a combination of hardware from Cisco and services from Ericsson with a view to strengthening Nextel's IP network to support traffic growth and improve performance on the mobile network. The deal includes Cisco routers (ASR9010), supply and installation, overall project management and customer support, said the partners in a statement.
