ESA, FD to develop commercial space apps

The European Space Agency (ESA) and global technology specialist First Derivatives (FD) have signed a letter of intent to develop applications in the commercial space market based on the latter's Kx platform. Under the terms of the deal, Kx and ESA's Business Applications (formerly Integrated Applications) Programme will work together to assist innovative start-ups seeking to use Kx technology as a platform for big data analytics in the commercial space market.
