eSports on way to becoming 'mass sport' in Germany

Nearly every tenth gamer, or roughly 4 million people, in Germany have taken part in an eSports league or tournament, according to new research from YouGov and the BUI, Germany's federal association for the computer- and video-gaming industries. The BUI said its research shows that eSports are on their way to becoming a "mass sport" in Germany. Nearly 3 million gamers "regularly or occasionally" participate in these leagues, while 21 percent of German gamers (9 million people) said they could see themselves participating in an eSports tournament and 23 percent said they would be interested in
