Estonian cable TV demand soars after 2 channels stop free-to-air broadcasting

Friday 1 September 2017 | 20:15 CET | News
Demand for cable TV services has increased in Estonia since channels Kanal 2 and TV3 were dropped from free-to-air transmission in June, reports Err.ee. Starman said that at least 20,000 new subscribers have connected to its services since then. Between 10,000 to 20,000 customers have connected to services from Viasat. According to estimates from Telia Estonia, Starman and Viasat, the additions are around 50,000 to 70,000 customers.
