Ethertronics launches Active Steering EtherChip for Wi-Fi

Antenna and RF system technology provider Ethertronics has unveiled a new chip designed for multiple-input/multiple-output 5 GHz and Wi-Fi applications. The Active Steering EtherChip EC482 is intended to meet the growing demand for video streaming among consumers accessing content via their televisions, tablets and smartphones. According to Ethertronics, the chip uses an active steering antenna, algorithm and RFIC tuning module to match the characteristics of the antenna to the propagation channel for improved network connection capabilities.
