European ICT standards body ETSI announced that its Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) Industry Specification Group held its first hackathons in Europe and China last month to test applications with ETSI MEC APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) in a variety of use cases. The events took place simultaneously on 18-19 September in Beijing, Berlin and Turin, with in-vehicle infotainment as one of the main areas of focus. Teams were asked to develop entertainment and/or VR/AR applications as in-car mobile solutions for passengers, using ETSI MEC technologies.
