EU and Brazil to jointly develop 5G mobile technology

The EU and Brazil have signed an agreement in Brussels to develop 5G mobile technology. They have committed to developing a global definition of 5G and to identify the services (connected cars, IoT or HD video streaming, for example) which should be the first delivered by 5G networks. The two partners will also work to define common standards and cooperate in identifying the most promising radio frequencies to meet the additional spectrum requirements for 5G. In addition, the EU and Brazil will promote the deployment of 5G in fields like smart cities, agro-food, education, health, transport
