EU needs technology mix to reach broadband goals - ETNO

The EU can achieve its broadband goals quicker, if it adopts multiple technologies rather than just FTTH, according to a new report from Boston Consulting Group for ETNO, the lobby group for European telecom incumbents. The European Commission announced in September new goals for increased access to high-speed broadband by 2025. The BCG report found that connecting all households to a very high capacity network by 2025 should be possible with a mix of technologies, including FTTH, FTTC, HFC and mobile. The EU also needs to relax competition rules to ensure operators secure a high enough
