European Space Agency's first reprogrammable satellite to launch this summer

The European Space Agency (ESA) said its advanced telecom satellite Quantum, that can be completely repurposed in orbit, has arrived at its launch site of Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana. The satellite was developed by ESA with operator Eutelsat and satellite manufacturers Airbus as the prime manufacturer and Surrey Satellite Technology for the platform. Developed under an ESA Partnership Project, Quantum will have a 15-year lifetime, providing data, communications and entertainment.
