Satellite operator Eutelsat reported quarterly revenue of EUR 385 million in the three months to September, its fiscal first quarter, representing year-on-year growth of 0.7 percent on a like-for-like basis (-0.7 percent on a reported basis). The three main service lines all posted a drop in like-for-like revenue. Video Applications, Eutelsat’s core market, saw revenue decrease by 1.3 percent (+1.4 percent in the previous quarter). Data Services and Government Services remained in the red, although the revenue drop improved since the previous quarter. The negative performance of these three service lines was more than offset by a 63 percent increase in the ‘other revenue’ category and an 8 percent rise in Value-Added Services.

The operator confirmed its revenue targets published in June, guiding for negative growth in the range of -3 to -1 percent for FY 2016-17, on a like-for-like basis. In FY 2017-18, revenue growth is expected to remain broadly flat, with a return to modest growth in FY 2018-19. For each of these three financial years, the EBITDA margin is expected to remain above 75 percent.
