Evantia wins Swedish sign language interpretation deal

Swedish postal and telecoms regulator (PTS) has awarded Finnish company Evantia the contract from 01 July 2016 to provide a televideo sign language interpretation service. The contract runs for 38 months, with a 24-month extension option. There were three bidders. The current holder of the contract is Orebro county parliament. Under the service, people who communication via sign language ring up an interpreter who phones the hearing call recipient, or vice versa. The interpreter mediates between the two parties.
