Ex-Orange Kenya staff out to stop sale of firm, property

Former Orange Kenya employees have gone to court seeking a permanent injunction restraining the sale of the company or any of its property. They are also seeking a declaration that they are entitled to an award upheld by the Court of Appeal in a previous case, Business Daily reported. Through lawyer Anthony Oluoch, the former employees claim the company is in a financial crisis and has been negotiating with third parties for its sale. They say that they stand to lose an award of two-and-a-half months' salary and a golden handshake awarded in another case, if the company is sold.
