Facebook 'improperly shared' data of 2.7 mln EU citizens

The European Commission has confirmed that political consultancy Cambridge Analytica obtained the personal information of 2.7 million European Facebook users. The figure was included in a letter from the social media network, with the EC set to press the company for further details of the breach. "Facebook confirmed to us that the data of overall up to 2.7 million Europeans or people in the EU to be more precise may have been improperly shared with Cambridge Analytica," said a Commission spokesman, according to Reuters, adding that the company also set out details of the steps it has taken
