Facebook, Instagram take fake account promoters to court

Facebook and its Instagram service have both filed a lawsuit in US federal court against four companies and three people for promoting the sale of fake accounts, likes and followers. Facebook said that the companies and people involved in the litigation are based in China, promoted these sales for Facebook and Instagram, as well as for Amazon, Apple, Google, LinkedIn and Twitter. Facebook said that the companies and people illegally used trademarks and brands.
