Facebook to deploy fibre networks in US and start providing wholesale services

Facebook said it will be deploying fibre networks in the US and open them up to third parties, becoming, in essence, a wholesale provider of services. In fact, the company's Middle Mile Infrastructure unit will operate as a wholesale provider, and as a telecom carrier, where necessary.
