Famoco hopes to sell 50,000 NFC readers to Orange Money

Orange is in talks with French start-up Famoco about equipping its Orange Money point of sales staff in Africa with Famoco's Android-based NFC card readers, co-founder Lionel Baraban revealed to Le Monde. According to Baraban, Orange could be using the company's dedicated hand-held devices in Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia by the end of the year. Describing these as "first orders", Baraban hopes that Famoco will eventually sell the French carrier between 40,000 and 50,000 readers for its African markets. Orange declined to comment on the report while
