Farice upgrades submarine cable system with Ciena

Network specialist, Ciena has announced that Farice, provider of international capacity from Iceland to mainland Europe, has upgraded its submarine cable system that connects Iceland and Scotland with Ciena's 100G coherent optical transport technology. With Ciena's converged packet optical and GeoMesh offerings, Farice will be able to support increased bandwidth demands of its traditional telecommunications carrier customers as well as its growing Icelandic data centre industry.
