Fastweb 'neutral' on TI spin-off, investment to go ahead

Italian broadband operator Fastweb is "neutral" on the issue of the separation of Telecom Italia's fixed-line network and is going ahead with its investment project, according to CEO Alberto Calcagno. Speaking at a conference in Capri, he said that, 10 months after the launch of the EUR 400 million investment plan in FTTC, Fastweb has completed 12 cities and reached 1.8 million households. Calcagno added that Fastweb annually invests 26 percent of its turnover, and with the FTTC expansion plans the operator is greatly expanding the availability of 100 Mbps connections, Corriere della Sera
