Fastweb picks Pirelli for Collina Fleming FTTH deployment

Broadband access and photonics company Pirelli Broadband Solutions has won a contract from Italian operator Fastweb. The Italian operator will use Pirelli's customer premises equipment (CPE) for its FTTH deployment in the Collina Fleming residential district of Rome. Under the terms of the contract, Pirelli will provide Fastweb with its FTTH access gateways, designed to support Wi-Fi, VoIP telephony, and high-throughput connectivity for end users' multimedia devices.
