Fastweb rolls out FTTC in Padua

Wednesday 2 October 2013 | 13:14 CET | News
Italian broadband operator Fastweb has signed an agreement with the Paduan authorities to bring its fibre network, enabling speeds of up to 100 Mbps, to 82,000 households and 19,000 businesses in the northern Italian city. The network expansion involves rolling out some 140 km of cable to connect around 420 street cabinets, but thanks to the infrastructure already laid down by Fastweb, only a further 22 km will need to be dug. The project is scheduled for completion by February 2014.
