FBI probes use of NSO Group spyware in suspected personal and government hacks - report

The Federal Bureau of Investigation  (FBI) is reportedly investigating the role of Israeli spyware vendor NSO Group Technologies in possible hacks of US residents and companies, as well as suspected intelligence gathering against governments, Reuters reported, citing unnamed people familiar with the inquiry. According to two people who spoke to agents or Justice Department officials, the FBI has conducted more interviews with technology industry experts after Facebook filed a lawsuit in October accusing NSO of exploiting a flaw in WhatsApp to hack 1,400 users.
