FCC completes 800 MHz band refarming, to open 2.2 GHz band for satellite launches

The FCC announced that it has largely completed the rebanding of the 800 MHz spectrum band, in order to limit interference from commercial cellular networks on public safety networks. At its latest meeting, the American regulator also set aside spectrum in the 2,200 MHz band for launch communications in the space industry.
