FCC plans USD 7.62 mln fine against Optic Internet Protocol

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) plans to fine Optic Internet Protocol, a Roswell, Georgia telephone company, USD 7.62 million for allegedly switching consumers' long distance telephone services without their authorisation ("slamming"), billing customers for unauthorised charges ("cramming"), and submitting falsified evidence to government regulatory officials as "proof" of consumers' authorisations.
