FCC starts consultations on opening up 5.9 GHz, 3.3-3.5 GHz ranges

The FCC is moving ahead with plans to open up the 5.9 GHz and 3.1-3.55 GHz ranges for wireless broadband and mobile services. The regulator started public consultations on opening up 45 MHz of the 5.9 GHz range for unlicensed services such as Wi-Fi and C-V2X and clearing non-federal users from the 3.1-3.55 GHz range to allow shared use of the frequencies for mobile services.
