FCC to review Rural Health Care programme

Friday 15 December 2017 | 10:09 CET | News
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched a review of its Rural Health Care (RHC) programme with a view to ensuring that all communities have access to advanced telehealth services. The commission said it's looking for comments on the appropriate level of the RHC programme funding cap and is also exploring ways to more efficiently distribute funds and combat waste, fraud and abuse. "Broadband connectivity has the potential to address barriers to care by delivering telehealth services and access to cutting-edge healthcare treatments," said the FCC in a statement.
