FET launches 5G laboratory in Taiwan

Taiwanese operator Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET), in partnership with Ericsson, has launched its 5G laboratory. FET says the lab can reach a wireless data transfer speed of 1Gbps. The Taiwanese operator will complete its 5G networks in three phases. The first phase will focus on the establishment of FET's LTE Advanced (3CA) networks, which will help upgrade its existing 4G networks to 4.5G, using 4x4 MIMO technology and supporting a downlink speed of 256QAM, the company also said.
