Fewer EU telecom network outages in 2015 from malicious acts

There were 138 major service incidents on EEA telecom networks last year, most of which affected mobile networks and were due to system errors, according to an annual report from ENISA, the EU's network security agency. Incidents occurred in 21 EU countries and two EFTA member states, while nine countries had no major incidents. Nearly half (44%) of the incidents affected mobile internet services, the same as in previous years. Some seventy percent of all incidents were caused by system failures or technical failure. The share of incidents caused by malicious actions dropped to 2.5 percent
