FFT wins reprieve as Numericable-SFR decides to stay

The French Telecom Federation (FFT) has won a last minute reprieve after Numericable-SFR changed its mind and decided to remain a member. Numericable left the FFT in 2010 and the two mobile operators it bought last year, SFR and Virgin Mobile France, had planned to leave. A pullout of would have left the association with insufficient funds to stay in operation. "We received a letter from Numericable-SFR last Friday to tell us that the group finally wished to stay," FFT president and Orange deputy CEO Pierre Louette told L'Express. Even if enough operators are members, smaller membership fees
