Fibre overtakes xDSL for Swedish fixed broadband provision

Fibre is now the most common medium for fixed broadband in Sweden, according to regulator PTS' report for the Swedish telecoms market for the first half of 2014. It has overtaken xDSL as the most common way of going online via landline. At the end of June, there were 1.1 million subscriptions for services with a download speed of at least 10 Mbps, and 634,000 contracts for services with uploads of at least 100 Mbps.
