FilmStruck movie subscription-streaming service to close down

Monday 29 October 2018 | 11:00 CET | News
The FilmStruck film subscription-streaming service will be closed in November, writes Variety, citing statements from Turner and Warner Bros. The move is in line with WarnerMedia's efficiency-focused strategy to shift resources to mass-market entertainment services and close down niche-oriented business ventures. Two sources familiar with the decision said the plan to terminate FilmStruck was made prior to AT&T's acquisition of Time Warner. The FilmStruck business will cease US and international operations on 29 November. The service stopped accepting sign-ups on 26 October.
