Finmeccanica to extend Italian police Tetra network

Finmeccanica announced a EUR 450 million contract with Italy's interior ministry to extend the Tetra PIT network for police use. The mission-critical mobile network will be significantly expanded across the Italian territory in order to support the security forces. The Tetra network also guarantees the confidentiality of communications, allowing optimal management and coordination of units throughout an area, the company said.
