Finnish electronic ID amendment aims to cut transmission cost by more than two thirds

Friday 30 November 2018 | 14:49 CET | News
The Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications said one of the reasons for the government's proposed amendment to the Act on Strong Electronic Identification and Electronic Signatures is to ensure a reasonable level of pricing between service providers, as well as choice for users, depending on their needs. In the legislative proposal, the price for the transmission of identification would be reduced from the current EUR 00.10 to EUR 00.03 cents. The proposal was submitted to parliament on 29 November.
