Finnish govt eases Norkring broadcast licence terms

Friday 10 June 2016 | 21:47 CET | News
The Finnish government has amended the coverage requirement set out in the network licence of Telenor Broadcast unit Norkring for multiplex B in the UHF band, and has allowed it to pick the technology for use in multiplex D. Under the new requirement, the multiplex B network must cover 85 percent of the population of mainland Finland, instead of 100 percent, by 10 January 2017. The terms of the network licence may be changed as no programme operator has been interested in the national DVB-T2 broadcasting capacity.
