Finnish state subsidies for fibre broadband work out at EUR 4,000 per kilometre

The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) said state aid for fibre broadband in Finland works out at EUR 4,000 per kilometer. The government has agreed EUR 5.0 million in public subsidies for broadband in 2021. By the end of 2020, the High Speed Broadband subsidy project had laid more than 27,000 kilometers of new optical fibre, and in 2020 alone, about 2,000 kilometers of new network were created.
