FirstBank partners UNICEF for mobile payments

First Bank of Nigeria has begun a partnership with the UN Children Education Fund (UNICEF) Health Scheme to use First Bank's mobile payment service FirstMonie to disburse UNICEF funds to beneficiaries, ThisDay reported. Head of marketing and corporate communications of First Bank, Folake Ani-Mumuney, said FirstMonie enables a subscriber to send and receive money, pay bills, buy airtime or and make sundry purchases in Nigeria without owning a bank account. She said it supports wealth creation by providing opportunities for thousands of entrepreneurs. It also promotes financial inclusion
