Five equipment manufacturers approved in Oi's LTE tests

Brazilian mobile telephony operator Oi has successfully completed LTE tests in five cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro, each with a different equipment manufacturer. The trial took place in Cabo Frio (Alcatel-Lucent); Araruama (Huawei), Teresopolis (Ericsson); Itaguaí (Nokia Siemens) and Macae (ZTE). All five manufacturers have obtained satisfactory results, a source from the operator told local portal Teletime, especially with respect to the signal range and speed. There was only one exceptional case of a manufacturer whose signal reached 4 kilometres while maintaining a speed of 8 Mbps
