FNA issues transparency guidelines for telecom contracts

The German Federal Network Agency has launched new guidelines setting out requirements for transparency in contracts for fixed line, mobile or internet services. Under the guidelines, mobile network operators or internet service providers must include a one-page product information sheet to the client prior to the contract being signed. This sheet must set out all essential service and contract contents, including available data transmission rates, contract periods, conditions for the renewal and termination of the contract and costs.
