Foreign gaming firms take 23% of Swedish revenue in 2016

Foreign companies accounted for 23 percent of gambling revenue in Sweden in 2016, according to consultancy Mediavision. Companies regulated overseas raised their turnover by 16 percent last year, whereas those regulated in Sweden only saw 2 percent growth. Mediavision said there is speculation that the government's assessment of the gaming sector at the end of March will recommend the introducing of a licence system similar to Denmark's.
