Friday 5 January 2018 | 09:53 CET | News
Uber Technologies co-founder and former CEO Travis Kalanick is preparing to sell around 29 percent of his 10 percent stake in the ride-hailing company for some EUR 1.4 billion, according to an unnamed source cited by Bloomberg. The sale is part of a transaction reached with a consortium led by Japan's SoftBank, which last week acquired a 20 percent stake in Uber. The deal values Uber at USD 48 billion, a discount of about 30 percent against the company's most recent valuation of USD 68 billion, with SoftBank itself owning about 15 percent of Uber.
